Unicorn Ranch Rescue: Saving lives, building community
At Unicorn Ranch Rescue, we are a 6-acre, all-species animal sanctuary in San Marcos, California. We are dedicated to providing rescue, rehabilitation, medical care, and loving homes for animals in need. Join us in our mission to make a difference.
Our story
Last year, from January through September, we were honored to care for 65 animals belonging to families who had lost their homes or were displaced by the Los Angeles fires. At a time when animal shelters are overcapacity, small rescues are needed more than ever to offer satellite locations and more hands-on care to each animal.
Our vision
Our vision is to align with the One Health Initiative and bridge the health of humans, animals, and the environment. We work with survivors of domestic violence to connect them to rescue animals that have also survived neglectful conditions. We partner with Brother Benos weekly to redistribute hundreds of pounds of food and fresh produce that would otherwise have been wasted to families and pets facing food insecurity. We do large-scale composting that we hope to expand to further support our community and our planet.
