Our dedication to animal welfare
Unicorn Ranch Rescue is a 6-acre, all-species animal sanctuary located in San Diego, California. We are committed to providing rescue, rehabilitation, medical care, and loving homes for animals in need. Last year, we proudly cared for 65 animals whose families were displaced by the Los Angeles fires.
Bridging human, animal, and environmental health
Our vision aligns with the One Health Initiative, connecting the health of humans, animals, and the environment. We partner with survivors of domestic violence, linking them with rescue animals that have also overcome neglect. Additionally, we collaborate with Brother Benos weekly to redistribute hundreds of pounds of food and fresh produce, combating food insecurity for families and pets. Our large-scale composting efforts further support our community and planet.
The crucial role of small rescues
In times when animal shelters are at overcapacity, small rescues like ours are more vital than ever. We provide satellite locations and offer more hands-on care to each animal, ensuring they receive the individual attention they deserve. Your support helps us continue this crucial work and expand our reach.
